
Leaked Free-to-Play Mode & Beta Dates for Battlefield 6

Recent leaks—confirmed by EA—have revealed that Battlefield 6 will feature a free-to-play Battle Royale mode, and also disclosed the official open beta dates scheduled for August 2025
What does the free mode include?
EA confirmed the new mode will be fully free, offering:
- A Standard Mode for casual play
- A Gauntlet Mode, focused on competitive elimination rounds
Both formats will be available during the open beta
Beta schedule revealed
Leaks and official information confirm:
- Early Access (Closed Beta): August 7–8
- Public Open Beta Weekend #1: August 9–10
- Public Open Beta Weekend #2: August 14–17
Preload begins on August 4 at 15:00 UTC (08:00 PT) on all platforms.
How to join the beta for free
Players can participate without cost during the public weekends. To get early access:
- Register on Battlefield Labs before July 31
- Watch the July 31 Twitch stream for access via Twitch Drops
- Pre-order the game (some editions include Early Access)
- Join freely during public weekends, no registration required

Supported platforms
The beta will be available on:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- PC (EA App, Steam, Epic Games Store)
Technical requirements
- You must link your EA Account to your gaming platform
- PC players need active Secure Boot
- EA Javelin Anticheat system is mandatory for beta
- No beta progress will carry over to the final release
Weapon system: unlocked or class-based?
Players can choose:
- Open Weapons: free weapon choices
- Closed Weapons: traditional class-locked weapons for Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon
